Short project summary
HEART aims to help schools and teachers across Europe use artificial intelligence (AI) in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education in a way that is fair, useful, and empowering. The project supports teachers with the tools, training, and infrastructure they need to confidently integrate AI into their classrooms-without replacing human connection.

Main Aim of the proposed project
O1: Deliver a turnkey, explainable AI toolkit for STEM assessment and feedback.
O2: Embed just-in-time micro-credential PD linked directly to AI tool use.
O3: Provide targeted infrastructure grants and Tech-Coach support to under-resourced schools.
O4: Co-design human-AI workflows that protect and enhance teacher-student interaction.
O5: Define policy toolkits and career ladders to reframe teachers as AI-literacy coaches.

Expected results – output of the proposed project
Create an AI toolkit
A digital tool that helps teachers assess science tasks like written explanations or data analysis. The tool will show how it makes decisions and include features to check for bias or unfairness.

Offer short, flexible teacher training
Teachers will receive just-in-time training and earn micro-credentials (digital badges). The training is practical and fits into their schedule, directly linked to using the AI toolkit.

Support under-resourced schools
50 schools with limited technology will get small grants for equipment and fast help from trained – Tech-Coaches – to make sure they can use the tools effectively.

Keep teachers in control
Teachers and students will work together to decide how AI is used in their learning environment. The focus is on helping, not replacing, teachers, and strengthening student, teacher relationships.

Create new career paths for teachers
The project will define new roles like – AI-Literacy Coach, – giving teachers recognition, growth opportunities, and a stronger voice in the digital transformation of education.
