Short biography:
Mamak District Directorate of National Education (Mamak MEM) is a regional public authority operating under the Turkish Ministry of National Education, responsible for managing and coordinating educational activities within the Mamak district of Ankara, Türkiye. Mamak MEM oversees approximately 400 educational institutions, including kindergartens, primary, secondary, and high schools, as well as adult education centers and guidance & research units. This structure serves a large and diverse educational community, involving over 100,000 students and nearly 7,000 teachers and education professionals.
As a dynamic regional education authority, Mamak MEM is experienced in implementing innovative practices in education, particularly in supporting digital transformation, inclusive education, and the integration of new technologies into learning environments. The organisation has been actively involved in numerous EU-funded projects, particularly Erasmus+ projects focusing on digital education, social inclusion, innovative learning environments, and teacher capacity building.
Short project summary
ReGENerate VET aims to reshape vocational education by integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) into VET systems to support green, digital, and ethical transformation. The project will co-design and pilot inclusive, competence-based learning pathways that equip VET learners and educators with practical knowledge of GenAI tools and circular economy principles. By focusing on ethical, responsible, and human-centred AI applications, the project promotes the use of GenAI to support sustainability goals, personalized learning, and green entrepreneurship. Through transnational collaboration, ReGENerate VET will deliver training modules, digital toolkits, and policy guidelines to empower VET providers to adapt to the twin transition of digitalisation and green growth. The project will also address challenges such as digital inequality, AI-related bias, and lack of awareness about AI’s role in sustainable development. The consortium will include VET providers, public authorities, digital education experts, and labour market stakeholders. Together, they will ensure that project results are accessible, transferable, and aligned with EU priorities such as the Digital Education Action Plan, the European Green Deal, and the European Skills Agenda.
Main Aim of the proposed project
Equip VET educators and trainers with practical, ethical, and pedagogical competencies to integrate GenAI tools into vocational teaching and learning, with a focus on sustainability, personalization, and learner engagement.
Develop and pilot inclusive, competence-based learning pathways that embed GenAI technologies in green VET curricula, particularly related to circular economy, sustainable entrepreneurship, and eco-digital careers.
Address digital inequality and algorithmic bias in VET by designing human-centred AI solutions that support diverse learner profiles, including those from disadvantaged or underrepresented groups.
Foster institutional and policy-level readiness by creating actionable guidelines, training resources, and frameworks that align GenAI integration in VET with European and national digital and green strategies.
Build a transnational community of practice among VET stakeholders, industry, and AI/green innovation experts to support the exploitation, scaling, and transferability of project outcomes across Europe.
Expected results – output of the proposed project
1. ReGENerate VET Competence Framework
A co-developed framework outlining the key green, digital, and ethical AI competencies for VET learners and educators. It will align with the DigComp, GreenComp, and AI literacy frameworks.
2. GenAI4VET Modular Training Curriculum
A flexible training program for VET educators and trainers focused on:
Ethical use of GenAI tools in teaching,
Circular economy and sustainability learning content,
Inclusion and bias mitigation through AI.
3. ReGENerate Learning Lab Toolkit (Open Educational Resources)
A digital toolkit including:
Use-case scenarios for GenAI in green VET,
Open-source AI tools adapted for classroom use,
Templates for designing AI-integrated lessons/projects.
4. Transnational Pilot Implementation Report
Piloting of the training modules in 45 countries involving 100+ VET educators and learners, followed by impact analysis, feedback loops, and adaptation.
5. Policy and Institutional Guidelines on Ethical GenAI in VET
Strategic recommendations for education policymakers and VET institutions for sustainable and inclusive GenAI implementation.
6. Dissemination & Community Platform
An online space to share project results, best practices, and engage stakeholders. Includes a repository of multilingual resources, events, and peer exchange tools.
